Carl Davidson was a philosophy graduate assistant from Penn State and an instructor at the University of Nebraska in 1964-66. Today he is an independent student of American pragmatism, especially Dewey and Mead, as well as Marx and Gramsci, and Thich Nhat Hahn's Engaged Buddhism. He is lead organizer of the Online University of the Left, and a veteran peace and justice organizer and community technology advocate. He was a leader of the 1960s new left.
