Read moreEcological art installations create spatial engagements and initiate community dialogues around sustainability and environmental matters in the public realm by creating compelling analog or digital experiences. Interactive digital engagements can be developed using real-time data processing with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. Studies show that interactive digital technologies enable effective reciprocations by making the audience an active investigator. In addition, an interactive connection between space, artwork, and the audience elevates the meaning of the public space leading to becoming a community forum. Therefore, AI could improve the efficiency of the interactive experience in the context of eco-art installations resulting in eco-didactic environments in the public realm. This paper explores existing interactive AI artworks and eco-art installations through literature and reflects on the adaptability of these technologies to eco-art installations. The study adopts the forced connection theory to create a link between interactive AI and eco-art installations for potential collaborations.
