My dissertation is on the ethics of our cognitive lives. It explores how our cognitive practices can themselves matter morally, independent of downstream action. It aims to contribute to ethics by developing our understanding of what we owe each other when we owe each other respect, to epistemology by showing how our cognitive practices are subject to moral normativity, and to feminist philosophy, bioethics, and the ethics of AI by illuminating cognitive dimensions of oppression, subjugation, and justice.
