Research and Teaching Fellow, School of Philosophy, University College Dublin. PhD, 2011, Toronto. My research focuses on social aspects of language and thought: is there an irreducibly social component to linguistic meaning, or conceptual content? Is the acquisition of language necessary for certain kinds of thought - and if so what kinds? Does the language you speak affect the way you think? Are linguistic communities intelligent collective agents? I draw on philosophy of language and mind, developmental psychology, and social epistemology in my investigation of these questions.
