Charles R. Pigden

Born Kingston, England, 1956: State school boy (I mention this since some people assume otherwise); BA (hons) Kings's College Cambridge, 1979: PhD La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia 1985: Post-Doc Otago, 1986: Temporary Lecturer, Massey, 1987-1988, Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor, Otago, 1988 to the present. UK/NZ citizen. Married to a social worker and noted cat-breeder; three adult children: a writer/director/actor, a croupier at a casino and a PhD student in Psychology. Extra-curricular interests (at various times) : left political activism (I've been a constituency campaign manager), reading (chiefly history, biography, fantasy and SF), walking, swimming (I've done a 30k sea swim), weight-lifting, cycling, sketching, karaoke, movies, running and socializing, especially with other philosophers. I am the only philosopher of my acquaintance to have published a philosophical dialogue in blank verse. (Complots of Mischief)
