My PhD research focuses on developing and defending a naive realist account of perception that is consistent with a naturalistic metaphysics. A major part of this hinges on a detailed analysis of the interlevel reduction-emergence relations between the manifest ordinary objects of perception and the mathematical structures of modern physics. Some of this connects with related themes in the metaphysical work of Kant and W.S. Sellars.
