Chris Abel is the author of over one hundred and forty publications on the built environment, culture and identity formation and has taught at universities around the world; most recently at the University of Sydney and the University of Ulster, Belfast, where he was Honorary Visiting Professor. In 2017 his book, The Extended Self: Architecture, Memes and Minds (2014) was awarded the International Committee of Architectural Critics Bruno Zevi Book Award by unanimous verdict of an international jury.
