My current research concentrates on exploring productive ways of presenting the folktales and local memories of Oman (i.e. the country's intangible cultural heritage) to an international audience. I am interested in theoretical questions about audience response and experience design, as well as practical aspects in the organisation of initiatives in sustainable cultural tourism. I continue to be fascinated by the challenge to contribute to literary and cultural theory, concentrating particularly on cognitive studies and theories of reading, and postcolonial studies.
