I am currently a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and co-editor of Debates in Aesthetics. Before this, I was British Society of Aesthetics Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Liverpool. I completed my AHRC-funded doctoral studies at the University of Warwick. My research focuses on why artists make things so hard for audiences, why everyone seems so happy about this, how we can learn from art, how aesthetic artefacts help us work out our place in history, and what philosophy can do for artists.
