I have held faculty positions at the TU Vienna in Austria and Xi'an-Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, China, and, since September 2025, I am Associate Professor of Creative Practice at Curtin University in Perth, Australia. My work has been widely exhibited and presented, including at the Venice Biennale, the Moscow International Film Festival, ISEA Symposium for the Electronic Arts, and the Center for Art and Media (ZKM) in Germany. I work in the philosophy of art of the continental and Chinese traditions, which I also teach, in cybernetics of the constructivist tradition and related topics in the philosophy of science and technology. I am a member of the Editorial Organism of 'Technoetic Arts: A Journal of Speculative Research' and Vice President of the American Society for Cybernetics (ASC). I have received multiple teaching-related awards during the past twenty years, including a national award for a design studio and a county-level award for a Philosophy of Art module for architecture students. In 2024, I received the Margaret Mead Prize of the ASC.
