I'm a lecturer in the law school at Birkbeck, where I teach philosophy of punishment, criminal law and criminology and social theory. I am interested in legal philosophy (particularly philosophy of criminal justice), and moral and political philosophy in the post-Kantian tradition, critical theory (especially the Frankfurt School and critical realism), psychoanalysis (particularly object relations theory), and the philosophy of natural and human sciences. I'm currently working on a book on the metaphysical presuppositions of social criticism, and on issues in the philosophy of responsibility and of punishment.
