This study explores the connection between greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions disclosure and the competitive performance of family firm (FAFI) in the ASEAN-6 region (specifically Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam). It investigates whether GHG emissions disclosure acts as a mediating factor and evaluates the moderating influences of ESG initiatives and corporate governance (COGO) structures. Grounded in a dataset of 3255 firm-year observations from publicly listed enterprises between 2020 and 2024, sourced from Refinitiv Eikon, we applied maximum likelihood structural equation modeling to examine the proposed links. The findings indicate that FAFI tends to exhibit lower GHG emissions disclosure. GHG emissions disclosure harms competitiveness and serves as a mediator in the relationship between FAFI attributes and competitive performance. ESG practices have moderated the link between GHG emissions disclosure and competitiveness and have been moderated by COGO. This study provides actionable insights for FAFI in ASEAN. Thereby, it suggests ways to improve their competitiveness through GHG emissions management. The results highlight the significance of strong ESG initiatives, especially in the emissions phase, and underscore the important role of effective COGO in optimizing the value-creation potential of ESG. This research has added to our understanding of FAFI in ASEAN. The study has deeply analyzed how FAFI, GHG emissions disclosure, ESG, competitiveness, and COGO connect in ASEAN. The paper has clarified that GHG emissions disclosure acts as a mediator, and ESG activities have a moderating effect. The research has demonstrated how certain COGO mechanisms affect the strength of that moderating effect.

Karl Marx’s Capital is a theoretical masterpiece, analyzing the exploitative nature of capitalism through concepts such as surplus value, abstract labor, and the law of diminishing marginal profits. In the context of globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, surplus value has shifted from manual labor to intellectual labor and digital data, leading to a change in the form of exploitation. This article analyzes the core concepts of Capital, focusing on the theory of surplus value, and explores how Marx’s theory can be applied to understand modern forms of exploitation in the digital economy, automation, and global supply chains. In the digital era, Vietnam education is transforming profoundly, requiring a flexible, modern educational philosophy suitable for social needs. Technological advances, especially artificial intelligence and online learning, are strongly impacting teaching and learning, requiring education not only to impart knowledge but also to be equipped with creative thinking, adaptive thinking skills, and digital ethics. Confucius's educational philosophy, although it comes from a feudal context, still carries core values that can be applied in modern education. Principles such as lifelong learning, moral education, character development, and social responsibility still play an essential role in building a well-rounded education system. Combining the quintessence of tradition with technological innovation will help improve the quality of education and create human resources with capacity, ethics, and the ability to adapt to the rapid changes of the times.

Este artigo examina, com base no materialismo histórico, a teoria das forças produtivas de Karl Marx, que afirma que o progresso social depende dos instrumentos de trabalho, das capacidades humanas e dos avanços tecnológicos. O objetivo da pesquisa busca analisar o impacto destes fatores no desenvolvimento humano do Vietnã dentro do contexto de Indústria 4.0 e da Era da Globalização. Seguindo uma metodologia dialética e materialista histórica, o artigo aborda o impacto das tecnologias modernas, da inteligência artificial e da automação nas capacidades e competências do trabalho, assim como na consciência social dos indivíduos. Os resultados mostram que, por um lado, essas forças produtivas aprimoram a educação, a saúde e o padrão de vida das pessoas; porém, pro outro lado, elas também intensificam a desigualdade entre as zonas rural e urbana, bem como a alienação dos trabalhadores industriais, como também a dependência excessiva na tecnologia estrangeira. Esses resultados orientam a alteração das relações de produção que decorrem da teoria marxista para garantir que todos os membros da sociedade se beneficiem igualmente das mudanças. Em suma, essa teoria apresenta uma visão holística ao desenvolvimento humano no Vietnã, sendo necessário investimento estrangeiro significativo, assim como educação tecnológica, reformas nas relações de trabalho e o aprimoramento da consciência coletiva em meio à industrialização e à globalização da sociedade.

As the world has become more digitally interconnected than ever before in the 21stcentury, the next generation is required to possess various sets of new skills to succeed in their works and lives. The purpose of the article is to present a dataset of socio-demographic, in-school, out-of-school factors as well as the eight domains of 21st-century skills of Vietnamese secondary school students. A total of 1183 observations from 30 secondary schools in both rural and urban areas of Vietnam are introduced in this dataset. The linear regression analysis was also utilized as an analysis example for this dataset. The insights generated from the dataset are hoped to contribute to skills-based education and policy planning in Vietnam.

Công bố khoa học được xem là một trong những thước đo trình độ phát triển khoa học công nghệ và sức cạnh tranh của mỗi một quốc gia do đó nó luôn là chủ đề gây chú ý đối với toàn xã hội trong những năm gần đây. Nâng cao số lượng và chất lượng nghiên cứu khoa học, công bố quốc tế được xem là một trong những yếu tố quan trọng quyết định đến sự hình thành và phát triển của các nhóm nghiên cứu cũng như quyết định cho sự thành công của các hoạt động khoa học công nghệ của bất kỳ cơ quan tổ chức nghiên cứu, giáo dục nào. Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện nhằm đánh giá vai trò của các nhóm nghiên cứu đối với việc công bố quốc tế riêng trong lĩnh vực khoa học tự nhiên và kỹ thuật.

Educational philosophy helps to orient the educational development process of each country and develop the capacity of each individual in society. In the educational history of each country, there is always a process of preserving and transferring social heritages. The educational system prepares the next generation to enter society and imparts ideas, values, and beliefs that will shape young people’s thinking and behavior for the rest of their lives. Therefore, this article wishes to clearly and vividly clarify the importance of studying Pragmatism’s educational philosophy to realize its present influence. At the same time, it is crucial to deeply understand the educational process of Pragmatism to derive meaning and clarify the primary function of educating Vietnamese people in the context of current global integration. The article uses the materialist dialectic method with broad and specific historical principles to evaluate Vietnamese education with opportunities and challenges in the current integration process by studying Pragmatism’s philosophical education. The article found that the theory of education by Pragmatism clarifies the role of social educational institutions – schools in the educational process. In parallel, it is a teacher with educational methods and programs that are the basis for educating learners to become comprehensive citizens in the future. And students are the goal and the product that the educational philosophy needs to implement. Research results, the article clarifies the need to develop an educational philosophy for Vietnamese people to build comprehensively in the socialist orientation in the current globalization context.

With a focus on the Common Law jurisdiction of England and Wales and the Civil Law jurisdiction of Vietnam, this article provides an analytical framework to address the uncertain jurisprudence of minor offence processes. The article’s approach is to seek an account of crime and criminal process that is most suitable for practice and most compatible with the broad notion of ‘criminal charge’ under international human rights instruments. It is argued that minor offences should be considered forms of less serious crimes that are subject to short periods of imprisonment or non-custodial punishments and dealt with by summary procedures. The fragmentation of minor offences demands an approach to procedural pragmatism and procedural proportionality; that is, the procedure for each type of offence should be proportionate to the severity of punishment and fair as a whole.
