Read moreThis article, by rejecting the classical dichotomy of pure determinism and absolute free will, presents a new formulation of the will in which the human being is neither the first cause of themselves nor a completely passive being, but rather the "site of their own organization." The metaphorical core of this theory is based on the "bowl" (as the fixed structure of the space of life's possibilities) and the "balls" (as the objective contents of life, including events, beliefs, relationships, and conditions); the will in this framework is not meant as exiting the bowl or creating the balls from nothing, but rather as the limited rearrangement of the weight, importance, and relation of these same balls within the bowl. The main innovation lies in distinguishing "Auto" (dynamic self-commitment) from "Self" (the advanced level of organization) and introducing "Self-Pertinent Volition" as the emergent capacity of the Self for this rearrangement; in such a way that the will is understood not as independence from conditions, but as the power to reorganize its own relation to conditions, and responsibility, instead of being metaphysical blame, is redefined prospectively and based on organizational role. The significance of this theory lies in opening a path for explaining agency and the compatibility of the will with the physical world, and providing a framework for interdisciplinary research in cognitive sciences, education, law, and artificial intelligence; and in the appended mathematical section, these concepts are formulated in the form of a system of stochastic differential equations with endogenous control, distributed rearrangement of importance, and the persistence constraint of the "bowl," which allows for the quantitative simulation of qualitative transitions and the historical sensitivity of the will.
