Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy

I am currently a student of the Doctoral Program of Philosophy at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Brazil). My main interest of research is the interface between the works of Plato and Gorgias of Leontinos. My thesis consists in, first, exploring Gorgias' 'Encomium of Helen', 'On not being' and 'Defense of Palamedes' in parallel with some eleatics (namely Melissus, Parmenides and Zeno) and the 'Dissoi Logoi'. In light of this, I then move on to an analysis of Plato's 'Parmenides' in order to interpret the reception that Plato does of Gorgias' reflections in this dialogue.
