Among other things, I teach an array of areas of applied ethics from environmental ethics to business ethics, and bioethics to AI ethics. I am editor of Traditions of Systems Theory (Routledge) and Critical Theory and the Thought of Andrew Feenberg (Palgrave/MacMillan). I have also translated various works from German into English including Naturalistic Hermeneutics (Cambridge UP) and Media of Reason (Columbia UP). From 2014 to 2019 I was president of the Humanities and Technology Association, an interdisciplinary society for the study of areas at the juncture of technology and society. I was the editor of the association's journal, The Humanities and Technology Review, from 2012 to 2014. Before coming the MDC, I was a faculty member at St. Thomas University (Miami Gardens) as well as the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and Colorado State University, Pueblo. While at St. Thomas University I was Interim Dean for the 2015-16 academic year, Director of the Institute for World Languages and Cultures in 2013-14 and Program Coordinator for the Liberal Studies and Philosophy programs from 2016 to 2018. I am a strong proponent of engaged pedagogy and community involvement. I am also a musician in my free time, having released five CDs.
