David Elkin

I am a psychiatrist at San Francisco General Hospital on a service that provides consultation to most of the medical patients and providers at our hospital. We often weigh in on questions of medical capacity and areas related to ethics. I hold a clinical appointment with the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, in a clinician-educator track. I hold an MD and a Masters in the Study of Law, and am very interested in the overlap of medicine and psychiatry, ethical challenges, education, critical thinking, and the social sciences and humanities.
