My research considers the role of religious traditions in contemporary debates over ethics, politics, and culture. To that end I have written on topics including neoliberalism, sexuality, atheism, and the arts. My current book project considers the link between premodern miracle traditions and democratic imagination. I am also co-director of an interdisciplinary collaboration studying the relation between artistic practice and understanding.
