No hay duda de que a Ernest Sosa le es atribuible tanto la prominencia de la epistemología dentro de la filosofía contemporánea como la orientación que esta disciplina ha tomado durante las últimas décadas. Sosa ha dejado una impronta indeleble en varias generaciones de epistemólogos, demarcando las líneas de discusión y ofreciendo una teoría del conocimiento comprehensiva y unitaria. El presente volumen tiene como objeto contribuir desde distintos ángulos a la discusión y aplicación de la teoría de virtudes de Sosa. Y hacerlo de la mano de amigos y colegas del ámbito español e iberoamericano que con sus trabajos le expresan su profundo agradecimiento.

La filosofía del lenguaje es uno de los campos de reflexión filosófica más fecundos. Hay cuestiones de naturaleza formal y semántica que siguen estando vigentes, pero lo que caracteriza a la filosofía del lenguaje analítica reciente es su giro hacia la pragmática: no solo el lenguaje, sino los hablantes y el contexto de habla deben ser considerados a la hora de determinar e interpretar el significado. ¿Cómo interaccionan semántica y pragmática en el análisis filosófico del significado lingüístico?

Pedagogy of Place focuses on the embodiment of purposefully created space resulting from the creation and enactment of its participants' cultural and social conditions. It is also about education, the purposeful creation of spaces that comprise learning environments, and the aesthetic dimensions of the created space called school. The essays present the concept of space--the place where learning happens and where the lives of student and teacher can thrive or wither--a place rich in human potential. In an attempt to address the diversity of what we define as space, Pedagogy of Place addresses issues around place and identity in three distinct strands: as social, as aesthetic, and as political and historical. As a collection, these essays are attempts to open conversations with persons interested in what counts as curriculum, teaching, and learning within the spaces and places that release human potential and nurture the human spirit.

In the hundred years since its publication, Wittgenstein’s Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus has become a contemporary classic with the peculiarity that it is surrounded by an aura of mystery: what is really Wittgenstein’s aim in writing the Tractatus, how are we to understand the last two propositions of the Tractatus that enjoin us to detach ourselves from the book itself and keep silent, can the Tractatus be anything other than a positivist and anti-metaphysical treatise, and so on? Here we will argue that the answer to these questions must consider what the ethical meaning of the Tractatus might be and, closely related to that, what its importance is and that of the ineffable in general.

Since the realisation that the antigen‐binding regions of antibodies, the variable (V) regions, can be uncoupled from the rest of the molecule to create fragments that recognise and abrogate particular protein functions in cells, the use of antibody fragments inside cells has become an important tool in bioscience. Diverse libraries of antibody fragments plus in vivo screening can be used to isolate single chain variable fragments comprising VH and VL segments or single V‐region domains. Some of these are interfering antibody fragments that compete with protein‐protein interactions, providing lead molecules for drug interactions that until now have been considered difficult or undruggable. It may be possible to deliver or express antibody fragments in target cells as macrodrugs per se. In future incarnations of intracellular antibodies, however, the structural information of the interaction interface of target and antibody fragment should facilitate development of binding site mimics as small drug‐like molecules. This is a new dawn for intracellular antibody fragments both as macrodrugs and as precursors of drugs to treat human diseases and should finally lead to the removal of the epithet of the ‘undruggable’ protein‐protein interactions.

Tsirelson’s problem deals with how to model separate measurements in quantum mechanics. In addition to its theoretical importance, the resolution of Tsirelson’s problem could have great consequences for device independent quantum key distribution and certified randomness. Unfortunately, understanding present literature on the subject requires a heavy mathematical background. In this paper, we introduce quansality, a new theoretical concept that allows to reinterpret Tsirelson’s problem from a foundational point of view. Using quansality as a guide, we recover all known results on Tsirelson’s problem in a clear and intuitive way
