My research regards epistemological and ethical questions in biology, medicine, cognitive science, and the social sciences. In particular: a) the nature and nurture of complex phenotypes, such as human intelligence, mental disorders, and medical conditions; b) the role of epistemic and non-epistemic values in shaping concepts and categories such as health, disease, race, ethnicity, and intelligence. I am also interested in technological innovation, sustainability, and open knowledge. From 2026, I'm PI of the project "Dynamic Medicine: A Processual Approach to Individual Differences in Health, Disease, and Life Trajectories."
