I am an adjunct professor of philosophy at Our Lady of the Lake University and Northeast Lakeview College (part of the Alamo Colleges District) both in San Antonio, Texas.
I hold a J.D. (University of Denver - 1998) (PhilPeople doesn't allow me to properly list a doctorate other than a PhD under my education in the sidebar). In 2026, I completed an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Alistair Welchman was my thesis advisor/committee chair. My thesis, titled "Citing Silences: Finding a History 'Outside' the Archive" is on the structure of historical silences and how we can use Derridian "citation" as a tool of unsilencing.
I am interested in philosophy of history, continental philosophy of language, philosophy of education, semiotics, aesthetics, information theory, philosophy of technology, cyber feminism, socialist feminism, Earth jurisprudence, Critical Theory, and AI ethics. I'm particularly interested in the works of Jacques Derrida, Martin Heidegger, Jean Baudrillard, Judith Butler, Roland Barthes, Michel-Rolph Trouillot, and Saidiya Hartman.
