In this multi-religious world, religious dialogue is very important in the relations between people belonging to different cultures. Thus through this article an outline of the primordial aspects of the Islamic faith is attempted for a better understanding of the religious life of Muslims. The Islamic religion is based on five pillars of faith, which every Muslim must respect throughout his life. Through this article we also can understand the importance of these pillars of the Islamic faith and more than that, we can understand why it is important that we, those of another religion, we must respect every human in the light of Christian love.

According to Alfred Weber, Muslim civilization, like the Western one, is a derivative, second-rate civilization, because it was built on the basis of pre-existing, heterogeneous, but very powerful civilizations that preceded it in the Near East. The presence of the Muslims throughout the world shows the spread of Islam outside the territory where it originated, through war or other forms of taking over, but references can be made to the civilization born on the basis of this religion, a culture with its imprint, to the fact that there is a leadership of Muslim society, that there is a Muslim law. Therefore, Islam developed from a local phenomenon and from an internal phenomenon of Arab life and transcended its borders, becoming a universal religion and a world force.

For a correct analysis of the interreligious dialogue between Orthodoxy and Islam, we must look closely at the basic doctrines of the two great religions and, through openness to dialogue, understand its importance in the contemporary world. In this apologetic approach, we need Orthodox dogmas to guard against the danger of altering the teaching of the Eastern faith, as a result of searches through other religions. As for the differences between the two great religions, they must be viewed objectively and responsibly, also seeking the historical context in which they were formed.

The concept of man in Islam. In order to be able to maintain a religious dialogue with other religions, especially with Muslim faith, we must, as always, look for the points of connection between the Orthodox religion and the Islamic religion. The value of the human person and his connection with divinity are present in every culture or religion of the world, because man, regardless of where he was on earth, he always sought to relate to divinity, to religion, to spirituality and he did all this to explain his existence and to understand what his purpose is on earth and how he should relate to eternal life, life after death. Man was created by God and all this world was created for him, it is his duty to praise God and thank Him for all the favors received.

The theme of the forgiveness of sins is central both in Orthodox Christianity and in Islam. Both religious traditions emphasize the living relationship between human beings and God, yet the ways in which believers receive forgiveness differ. In Orthodoxy, forgiveness is granted through sincere repentance, prayer, and participation in the Sacrament of Confession, where the priest, as a minister of grace, mediates forgiveness through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Islam, the focus is on personal repentance, genuine regret, and the firm decision not to repeat the sin, with the believer addressing Allah directly. In both traditions, good deeds strengthen the relationship with the divine and contribute to the purification of the soul. The differences are mainly sacramental and institutional, yet the common foundation remains the moral responsibility of each individual and the real possibility of spiritual renewal. A comparative study of these perspectives provides a deeper understanding of the importance of forgiveness in the religious and moral life of the faithful.
