Devora Shapiro

I am Associate Professor in the Department of Social Medicine at Ohio University-Heritage College of Medicine. I was previously the 2021-23 Cleveland Fellow in Advanced Bioethics at the Cleveland Clinic, having previously served as Associate Professor of Philosophy, Co-Coordinator for the Healthcare Studies Program, and Affiliated Faculty for both the Honors College and for Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at Southern Oregon University. My research focuses in: philosophy of medicine, feminist epistemology, and biomedical ethics,. Additionally I often teach and research in: social philosophy, 17th-18th century philosophy, and post-Kuhnian philosophy of science. I also have an interest in the history of science (enlightenment and scientific revolution).
