I am a professor of philosophy and the integrated biosciences (PhD) program at the University of Akron. I have also served as Department Chair and as the Director of Opportunities & Belonging at the Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences. I have a B.A. in philosophy from UCLA and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Syracuse University. My research is in the philosophy of mind and cognitive neuroscience. I am interested in the nature and ontology of color, color perception, and more generally how cognitive psychology and neuroscience can inform our philosophical theories about perception and cognition as well as their relation.
