Dorothea Winter

My research moves across epistemology, ethics, and aesthetics, with a sustained focus on the philosophy of artificial intelligence, questions of intentionality, agency, and autonomy in artificial systems, and the political philosophy of digital societies. I draw on critical theory as well as power-critical and feminist perspectives to interrogate how computational infrastructures reconfigure knowledge, judgement, and collective self-determination. My recent work engages the epistemic and democratic stakes of machine learning, the possibility of artificial joint intentionality, and the neocolonial dimensions of global AI development.
