I am primarily a philosopher of physics with interests in metaphysics. I am the founder of the philosophical program Empirical Fundamentalism. My most prominent work is Causation and Its Basis in Fundamental Physics, a comprehensive metaphysics of causation based on the hypothesis that traditional theories of fundamental physics provide a decent guide to fundamental reality. This book contains a novel explanation of causal asymmetry. I also work in foundations of quantum mechanics, space-time, and quantum gravity.
