Dr. Vivencio O. Ballano

Dr. Vivencio "Ven" O. Ballano is a prominent Filipino sociologist, author, and academic, recognized for his expertise in sociological theology, clerical sexual abuse, social spirituality, commodified health care, LGBTQIA+ studies, sociology of religion, law, and media piracy. He is currently an Associate Professor V in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in Manila. To date, he has published 11 Scopus-indexed monographs with Springer Nature, Routledge, and Bloomsbury Academic, and several journal articles and book chapters. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Humanities & Social Sciences /communications journal (Springer Nature, Q!).
