My research addresses philosophical issues that arise in the scientific study of psychological processes and their neurobiological correlates. I’m especially interested in the nature of conscious experience: what function does it serve in information processing systems? I’ve also worked on other topics of interest in cognitive science, including: representation, emotion, perception and social bias. I also think it is important to take into account issues of social justice and animal welfare in conducting philosophical and scientific research.
