I work in the history of philosophy, in political and social theory, and in metaphysics and ethics. My main current projects concern (1) testimony, belief, faith and knowledge in early modern European philosophy, and (2) Gassendi's defence of Epicurean hedonism, the scholarly editing of Gassendi's ethical writings, and other topics in early modern European ethics.
