The following work aims to propose and contribute with a philosophical perspective the Colombian civil war. This insight has found its basis on Edgar Garavito’s thought, who was a Colombian philosopher and sociologist that had already expressed its concern before this historical event and manifested every philosophical multiplicity to understand the problem of the war. As a result, the philosophical proposal developed in this research paper has tried to address the civil war from an ethical and political perspective, that allows to recognize four aspects or positions of its nature which are, the warmongering, the pacifism, the catastrophism and the minoritarian war. These aspects will be useful to understand the conflict from its constitution and throughout the tensions that violence has provoked along these years, as well to comprehend the transformative and resistant power that had emerged from there.
