Edward R. Canda, PhD, is Professor Emeritus and Coordinator of the Spiritual Diversity and Social Work Initiative in the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare. His work focuses on the cross-cultural study of religions, spiritual perspectives, and philosophy with implications for social welfare. In 2013, Dr. Canda received the Council on Social Work Education's Significant Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on spiritual diversity in social work.
