I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Connecticut. My work in the history of philosophy focuses on the Graeco-Roman as well as Islamo-Arabic traditions.
I am completing a book on the history of appeals to nature as a source of normative authority, tentatively entitled Ethics and the Appeal to Nature, under contract with Oxford University Press. Other areas of current research include conceptions of love and desire as they figure in metaphysical, cosmological, and theological contexts in classical and post-classical Islamic philosophy.

I received my PhD from the Committee on Social Thought and the Department of Philosophy at the University of Chicago in 2020. In 2019-20, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Ethics.
