Elese Dowden is a writer and recovering philosopher from Aotearoa New Zealand working as a Lecturer in the History of Ideas at Trinity College, University of Melbourne, on unceded Wurundjeri country in Naarm. She completed a PhD in Philosophy with a thesis on ethical restoration after historical injustice at University of Queensland in 2019 and holds a Master of Arts from the University of Auckland. Her research interests include Continental philosophy, Anglophone literary criticism, and Antipodean history.
