General Philosophy of Science

I work in metaphysics and philosophy of science: currently, I'm particularly puzzled about explanation, reduction, laws of nature, local beables, and the place of ontology in scientific theorizing. I'm on leave for now, but I'll be teaching at Brown beginning in the fall of 2019. Previously, I was an assistant professor at Yale (2015-2018) and a lecturer at the University of Birmingham (2014-2015). You can reach me at emiller.philosophy@gmail.com or elizabeth_miller@brown.edu.
