I am Professor Emerita of Philosophy at William & Mary and current co-editor of Hume Studies, with Mark Spencer, History, Brock University. My research centers on David Hume's theory of the passions and action and on his moral theory. I am also interested in the implications of Hume's theory of motivation for contemporary ethics. I have further interests in practical reasoning, virtue ethics, and early modern theories of the emotions.
