Most of my research falls into three areas: logic (the rise of modern logic, notions of completeness, the role of meta-logic, logical practices cross-culturally); the philosophy of mathematics (structuralism, logicism, mathematical practice, mathematical understanding, Dedekind's contributions); and early analytic philosophy (Frege, Carnap, Wittgenstein, etc.). But I have broader interests too: the philosophy of science (T. Kuhn, I. Hacking), Neo-Kantianism (Cassirer), pragmatism (Peirce), historical epistemology (Cavaillès), and meta-philosophy (explication, articulation, morphology); also: semiotics, aesthetics.
