Independent philosopher working at the intersection of philosophy of mind, metaphysics, and philosophy of artificial intelligence. My current research proposes a new framework for consciousness centred on the distinction between memories and points of view, and argues that the capacity to dream — with all its irrationality and hopeful self-deception — is essential for genuine consciousness. I am particularly interested in why artificial intelligence cannot possess consciousness and how consciousness interrupts the law of supervenience to create meaning in the universe.
