47Relative ContradictorinessLogica Universalis 19 (4): 553-583. 2025.Our thesis about contradictoriness is a threefold one: it is a _relative_, theory-dependent concept; it is a synonym of _absurdity_, which is a constant of falsity; it is to be used as a _definiens_ of sentential negation and truth-values, contrary to its usual presentation. First of all, we review both the motivation of such a thesis and its philosophical consequences about the nature of negation and truth-values. Then we propose a formal background encompassing the relativity of contradictorin…Read more

45Vasiliev’s Ideas for Non-Aristotelian Logics: Insight Towards ParaconsistencyIn Dmitry Zaitsev & Vladimir Markin (eds.), The Logical Legacy of Nikolai Vasiliev and Modern Logic, Springer Verlag. pp. 59-77. 2017.In this paper we analyze some of Vasiliev’s main theses on non-Aristotelian logics, in order to show that some of his ideas do indeed match those of present-day paraconsistent logic. Considered from a historical perspective, Vasiliev’s contribution to the history of logic has great intentional value, and his work contains many new ideas that could be extended by others in various ways.

132Aristotle’s Theory of Deduction and ParaconsistencyPrincipia: An International Journal of Epistemology 14 (1). 2010.In the Organon Aristotle describes some deductive schemata in which inconsistencies do not entail the trivialization of the logical theory involved. This thesis is corroborated by three different theoretical topics by him discussed, which are presented in this paper. We analyse inference schema used by Aristotle in the Protrepticus and the method of indirect demonstration for categorical syllogisms. Both methods exemplify as Aristotle employs classical reductio ad absurdum strategies. Following,…Read more

126Aristotle's Theory of Deduction and ParaconsistencyPrincipia: An International Journal of Epistemology 14 (1): 71-97. 2010.No Órganon Aristóteles descreve alguns esquemas dedutivos nos quais a presença de inconsistências não acarreta a trivialização da teoria lógica envolvida.
