I use autoethnography as a method of self-study research based on my experience to explore childhood memories of school, and currently working in a higher education setting. I showcase how autoethnography not only helped me to remember the past, but also imagine the past and remember the future, which opened my eyes to curiosity and change. The purpose of this chapter is to show how autoethnography shaped my identity and helped me make meaning of my experiences, which allowed me to resist and become a better teacher educator, even before entering the world of teaching in higher education. I present two poems to enable readers to find some resonance with my journey.
