I live in the North with my husband and two teenage children. I am mostly a lecturer and researcher at art school but I am also a practising artist, a musician and a poet. My research is on critical thinking in an art school and how to improve student’s written and spoken English by such methods and interventions as poetry writing group, book club and fictional diaries. I am interested in art and Modernism, art and Postmodernism, post-structuralist theory, feminist theory and transformational pedagogy. The variations, imperfections, mishaps and diversions make my life, my writing and my creative pursuits fruitful. Often the poetry, the academic writing and painting reflect and mirror each other.
