Francesca Brencio

Dr. Francesca Brencio is a philosopher interested in the integration of phenomenology and hermeneutics within clinical education and practice. She joined the Institute for Mental Health at the School of Psychology at the University of Birmingham in August 2024 as Teaching Fellow in Mental Health with a full-time teaching position. From September 2025 she is Deputy Director Undergraduate Studies in Psychology. Francesca is the Director of the PhenoLab - A Theoretical Laboratory in Phenomenology and Mental Health, officially recognised in 2024 as an Organisational Partner at The Collaborating Centre for Values-based Practice in Health and Social Care at the St Catherine's College at the University of Oxford (UK). She also works as APPA Certified Counsellor.
