I am an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow at the Arts and Minds Lab, Department of Philosophy, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, working at the intersection of philosophy of emotion, aesthetics, and personal identity.
Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Geneva (Swiss Center for Affective Sciences, “Thumos” Group), where I investigated the interplay between emotions—such as the sense of beauty, awe, and the sublime—and aesthetic value. I earned my PhD at EHESS in Paris, exploring the role of narrative in shaping personal identity through the lens of Paul Ricœur’s philosophy.

Building on this background, I am currently developing an account of the “aesthetics of the self.” My research seeks to understand how and why aesthetic dimensions matter deeply for us as persons. I examine the normative force of aesthetic reasons in life-defining choices and the ways in which aesthetic preferences shape our long-term decisions and projects. In a nutshell, I explore whether personal identity itself can instantiate aesthetic value—whether a life may, in a meaningful sense, be shaped and assessed as one might shape and assess a work of art—and whether our existential choices are guided by the aesthetic outlook we seek to embody.
