I work on topics in moral psychology, including self-knowledge and self-opacity, emotions, and imagination, and I also work on film. My thinking is typically grounded in Kant and Freud, and I've also written about James Baldwin, W.E.B Du Bois, Stanley Cavell, Iris Murdoch, and Bernard Williams.
