    A Production-Oriented Counterexample to Ethicism

    The extent to which moral judgements are appropriate with respect to creative works has long been the subject of critical debate. More recently, attention has turned to whether or not moral defects found in a given work also count as aesthetic defects. Ethicism claims that moral defects are always aesthetic defects and characteristics that are morally praiseworthy are always aesthetically praiseworthy. I suggest a production-oriented counterexample, which seeks to undermine Ethicism.

    In Defence of Moderate Actual Intentionalism

    Cricket has garnered a curious reputation for regularly presenting participants with moral dilemmas. One such dilemma is that of ‘walking’, where the batter chooses to leave the field of play knowing they were out, but without such adjudication from the umpire. In this article, the author puts forward the three most powerful arguments in defence of walking, and in each case, argues that they are poor advocates for the practice.
