I am the biographer of Emil du Bois-Reymond, the most important forgotten intellectual of the nineteenth century. Du Bois-Reymond is famous for his advocacy of reductionism in biology, his lectures on the epistemological limits of science, his prominence as a Darwinist, and his theory of history.
