Gavin Keeney

Gavin Keeney completed a research doctorate in Architecture at Deakin University, Australia, in 2014, on the subject of “Visual Agency in Art and Architecture,” inclusive of the monograph, Dossier Chris Marker: The Suffering Image (2012). Post-doctoral publications include Knowledge, Spirit, Law: Book 1, Radical Scholarship (2015), and Knowledge, Spirit, Law: Book 2, The Anti-capitalist Sublime (2017). In 2024 he completed a second PhD via the Postgraduate School, ZRC SAZU, Ljubljana, Slovenia, concerning the moral rights of authors in the age of cognitive capitalism, forms of scholarship that are also works of art, and editioning strategies for nominally useless works in the Arts and Humanities. Two monographs encompassing the Works for Works research project (2019-2024) will be published by the scholar-led, open-access press, Punctum Books, with Works for Works, Book 1: Useless Beauty published in July 2022 and Works for Works, Book 2: “No Rights” published in July 2024.
