I work at the intersection of epistemology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and aesthetics. My research centers on the problem of meaning, the relation between material support and signifying form, and the limits of reductionist approaches to mind and knowledge. I am the author of Philosophy of Meaning, a multi-volume work developing a non-reductive account of signification, knowledge, freedom, and identity.
