My PhD dissertation (1984) was on the philosophy of R.G. Collingwood. I am retired now from professional philosophy teaching, but I am somewhat active through occasional teaching, lectures, email,and internet outreach. I no longer consider myself a philosopher: I am a Sophologist - where Sophology is the study of wisdom, which is what philosophy should be. My website, www.sophology.org is the first Google "Hit" when you do a search for "study of wisdom." I am the also the owner of the Yahoo groups, Sophology and R.G.Collingwood. And I run the Yahoo Amateur_Microscopy forum - a serious "hobby" of mine.
