Guilherme Fóscolo

I’m a Professor of Philosophy at the Federal University of Southern Bahia (UFSB), where I teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. From 2013 to 2014, I was at Stanford University as a CAPES/FULBRIGHT Visiting Student Researcher, working with Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht. I currently lead the Advanced Research Group in Aesthetics, Atmospheres, and Technologies (CNPq), and I’m also part of the Red Latinoamericana de Investigaciones en Prácticas y Medios de la Imagen (Red ImagenLat), the Aesthetics Working Group of ANPOF, and the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics (ABRE). My work mainly focuses on Aesthetics, Philosophy of Art, and Philosophy of Media, and I’ve published a number of articles and book chapters in these areas. In 2022, I co-edited the book Vida da Literatura with Flora Sussekind, published by N-1. More recently, I’ve been co-hosting the podcast Joystick Philosophy with Nicolau Spadoni. Right now, I’m especially interested in videogames, AI, and Brazilian and Indigenous-American Philosophy.
