Philosopher of biology and logic, trained in both cell and molecular biology and philosophical logic. I develop a teleofunctional account of representation that runs from genetic signalling to language and formal logic. It builds on Ruth Millikan's biosemantics and introduces the Functure, a structural-functional unit of biological representation. I also work on Aristotle's modal syllogistic and on Wittgenstein and science.
