I am a philosopher and currently an Honorary Research Fellow in Philosophy at Lancaster University. My research focuses on philosophy of medicine, philosophy of science, and philosophy of mind. I also work as a Clinical Ethicist at Pride in Health, which is a provider of gender affirming healthcare. Formerly, I trained as a psychiatrist.
I have a PhD in Philosophy from Lancaster University, an MPhil in Philosophy and Ethics of Mental Health from the University of Pretoria, an MB BChir in Medicine and a BA (Hons) in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge, and an MRCPsych from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
